Your records. Your bike.
Terms and conditions
Updated 8 October 2026
BikeDex helps you keep a clear record of your bike, its use and the work carried out on it. These terms explain the service, purchases and your responsibilities.
Who provides BikeDex
BikeDex is provided by Ovidiu Dinu, an independent developer based in Ireland. “I” and “me” refer to the provider, not a separate incorporated Build Forward company. Contact support@buildforward.eu with questions about BikeDex or these terms.
These terms cover the app and its optional import service. Your App Store licence is governed by the EULA applicable to your download and Apple’s applicable usage rules. Where your local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission to use the service or make a purchase, obtain that permission. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
What the service does
BikeDex lets you organise bike and component details, log or import rides, record maintenance and workshop visits, save setup settings and create service reports. Optional AI import suggests specifications from a public product page. Available functionality may depend on your device, OS, permissions and third-party services.
BikeDex is offered as a one-time paid App Store download, with no subscription, free trial or in-app purchases. Apple displays the price, currency and applicable taxes before purchase. Prices can differ by country. Buying the app does not authorise recurring charges and does not include unlimited online imports.
Your records and responsibilities
Enter information you reasonably believe is accurate and review imported details, especially the bike model, year and components actually fitted. You remain responsible for deciding what to save and for correcting records when parts or usage change. Only upload or link to content you are entitled to use.
You retain your rights in your records and images. You permit the limited processing needed to operate the features you request and to share reports when you choose. These terms do not transfer ownership of your content to BikeDex. Keep copies of records important to you; iCloud synchronisation is not a guarantee that every change has finished syncing. Ride history and usage readings stay on the device and are excluded from backups; reinstalling the app or replacing the device can lose local assignments and usage history. This responsibility does not exempt the provider from obligations concerning security, conformity, updates or remedies.
Maintenance estimates are not an inspection
Service reminders are estimates based on recorded time, distance, ride hours, selected intervals and history. They do not measure wear, detect every defect or certify a bike as safe to ride. Imported specifications, references and suggested intervals can be incomplete, outdated or incorrect.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact parts and consult a qualified mechanic when needed. Do not rely on BikeDex to decide whether damaged brakes, suspension, tyres or structural parts are safe. Stop riding if you suspect a safety-critical defect. BikeDex does not provide a professional inspection or a warranty on repair work.
Service reports and costs
Reports reproduce saved information and identify planned or completed work as recorded. Owner-entered entries are not independently verified, and a PDF is not a manufacturer certificate, mechanical safety approval or tax invoice. Review reports before sharing them, including personal information in notes, photos and receipts.
Each recorded cost carries its own currency. Your default currency applies to new entries. Changing a preference does not convert old amounts; mixed-currency totals are shown separately and no exchange-rate service is provided.
Imports, reasonable use and availability
Automatic import depends on access to third-party pages and may fail or return incomplete information. Manual entry remains available. Do not use the import service for non-product scraping, submit private or sensitive pages, bypass usage controls, automate excessive requests, or interfere with the service or other users.
The service enforces request, resource and spending allowances. Automatic import may temporarily pause when an allowance is reached or a provider is unavailable. Cached results can be reused. Unlimited imports and compatibility with every website are not promised. Restrictions should be proportionate to protecting the service; contact support if a legitimate import is blocked.
Changes may be needed for security, compatibility, reliability or legal compliance. Material changes affecting a paid service will receive appropriate notice and any remedies required by consumer law. Existing purchase commitments are not removed by changing these terms. A one-time purchase does not promise that third-party services or compatibility with all future devices will continue forever. If support or the service is discontinued, I will provide appropriate notice and explain available data options and applicable remedies.
Apple and other providers
Apple’s applicable App Store terms and standard software licence apply to the download unless a valid custom licence is supplied. These service terms supplement rather than replace that licence. Apple handles billing and provides refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. You can also contact support@buildforward.eu about faults or service problems.
Third-party product pages, manuals and image hosts remain under their operators’ control. Their availability and content are not guaranteed by BikeDex. A link does not imply an endorsement or an affiliation with a manufacturer.
Apple’s refund process does not replace mandatory remedies you may have against the relevant trader. Nothing here waives a cancellation or withdrawal right that applies by law. Where immediate digital supply affects that right, the required consent and acknowledgement must be obtained through the applicable purchase process.
Privacy and ending use
The privacy policy explains data handling and available choices. You can stop using the app at any time and remove records through its controls. Uninstalling may remove local data but does not necessarily erase private iCloud copies, backups or reports shared with others. Contact support@buildforward.eu for privacy requests.
We may restrict the import endpoint where reasonably necessary to stop misuse or protect its operation. That restriction does not give us ownership of your local bike records. Any response to misuse must respect applicable consumer rights.
Consumer rights, responsibility and disputes
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that applicable law makes mandatory, including rights relating to faulty or misdescribed digital content or services. No limitation excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
BikeDex is intended for personal record keeping. Responsibility for loss depends on applicable law, the cause of the loss and the contract. Inaccurate entries and third-party sources can affect results, but the description of estimates and limitations does not automatically excuse a failure to provide the service lawfully.
Irish law applies subject to mandatory protections of any applicable law, including consumer protections in your country of residence. Nothing requires a consumer to use Irish courts where mandatory law permits proceedings elsewhere. Contact support@buildforward.eu about a dispute; informal resolution does not prevent you from exercising legal rights. If a provision is invalid, the remaining terms apply to the extent legally permitted.
Changes to these terms
The current version and date will be available in the app and on the website. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and obtain agreement where required. Changes will not remove rights that arose before they took effect.
